Amy and Rob’s wedding and reception at Whistle Bear
The weather forecast was calling for rain on Amy and Rob’s big day the week leading up to the wedding. Then a few days before, it changed to Sunday. Wedding Day score #1. We had scouted some ubercool outdoor locations beforehand and were very pleased that we would still be able to use them. One of the locations we scouted- a picturesque country property- turned out to belong to a relative of Rob’s. Score #2. We had tonnes of fun at the next location- a veritable concrete legoland, where everyone got to let loose and play… so many great shots from here. Score#3. The fun continued over at Whistle Bear Golf Club- we got to golf cart it over to one last location- an old shack in the woods- for some photos alone with the couple before they were married. The forest floor was riddled with trilliums and wildflowers- so beautiful and delicate- we really had to take care where to step!
The reception provided many more favorite moments- If you can tell how much a bride and groom are loved by how enthusiastically people sing for them, well then, Amy and Rob are very well loved. Everyone put a lot of soul into their performances but Amy’s nieces really won the crowd over with their adorable performances. Then there was the most massive group hug we have ever seen! The night was capped off by a spectacular sparkler display.
Amy and Rob- Thanks for having so much fun!

Paintings from weddings: Steve & Swan

Steve and Swan’s Wedding at the Galt Country Club
Simply put, Steve and Swan’s wedding was an epic event. From the chaos of getting ready and trying to determine who the MO was, to a wedding ceremony that blended two cultures and rituals, the colourful and gymnatic dragons, some funny and moving stories from close friends and family to finally some great dancing from Dave -made for one great day.
Thank you Steve and Swan for the creative freedom to capture the love and life of your day.

Steve and Swan's wedding and reception at the Galt Country Club
Steve and Swan’s house has vibrant coral red on the doors. The doors are a welcoming beacon in the sea of white doors on the town homes that surround them. How Cool. How Bold. I had a feeling that colour may be a big theme in the pictures today. I also had a feeling that coolness would be a big theme in the pictures today. Lucky for us, Steve and Swan are a couple of cool cats. (Mo was pretty cool herself.) They wanted their day to be unscripted- which gave us lots of creative freedom. They did indulge us for some creative portraits- the imposing tree on the property of the Galt Country Club made a for an interesting backdrop- the 45mm made it unreal.
All of the chair covers were a bright chinese red. Swan’s dress had red woven through it. Red is a symbol of good luck and happiness in Chinese culture. The lion dancers provided colourful entertainment. Dave (Swan’s Father) showed his colourful personality and cool cat moves on the dance floor. All in all a very colourful day.
Steve & Swan- We wish you much good fortune and happiness in the future.

Zena & Rami : Creative Portrait
Zena & Rami- Wedding reception at Le Jardin
The big day started on a perfect note with the most beautiful weekend that we have had so far this year. We met up with theenergetic and dynamic Zena and friends for some getting ready shots and shortly after we headed to Le Jardin Event Centre where the couple would meet up. Zena and Rami were married earlier in a private ceremony- but the moment when theyfirst saw each other was no less emotionally charged- you could definitely feel the love! We then headed out to the quaint village of Kleinburg- where the historic buildings and picturesque storefronts would make a good backdrop for some creativeportraits. Everywhere we went well-wishers congratulated the couple. We took some shots in the beautiful grounds of the McMichael Art Collection- the light was out of this world and and Floyd (45mmTS-E) made it look even more so. Back at the hall, after all guests were settled, the couple made their grand entrance with the Zaffeh- a Lebanese tradition where the groom is escorted by a group of dancers and musicians to the bride (traditionally from his house to hers). It was quite the flurry of activity which culminated with all of the guests circling around the bride and groom, cheering and dancing. It was totally breathtaking- you could feel the floor heaving with the sheer number of people. What a blast! Thanks Rami and Zena for choosing us to be a part of your day.
Princess Maya

Maya celebrated her third birthday in style, as she and three friends got to be princesses for the day.
Angie was there to photograph the event.

Harmony & Nick 02:13:2010

.
We had the pleasure of meeting up with the wonderful Voisin family again last weekend for the wedding
of Harmony and Nick. There was so much love and great people and so many adorable babies and kids
around. It was so much fun. We were excited that Harmony and Nick wanted to keep the posed pictures
to a bare minimum. We got to let what happens happen. The beautiful ceremony took place at Our Lady
of Lourdes church. Later, the happy couple made their grand entrance at Trinity Hall with a sweet little
dance over to the ubercool martini luge. Then a toast to the official beginning of the PARTY!
